The benefits of olive oil and olives to prevent diseases and their growing culinary uses represent a great opportunity for olive exporters.

Five markets accumulate 64% of the world demand for table olives. The United States imported 147,938 tons in the 2020/2021 agricultural year, which represents 23% of the demand. 

It was followed by Brazil, which imported 109,345 tons (17% of world demand); the European Union, with 102,913 tons (16%); Canada, with 7,397 tons (5%); and Australia, with 3,280 tons (3%).

The world suppliers that supply this 64% of the demand are: Spain, Egypt, Argentina, Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Peru, Italy and Albania.
